John Ryan laid the groundwork for Metro Development
Group after a successful career in Canadian real estate development in Toronto. John's rare combination of big picture vision and attention to detail, along with his extensive experience in residential and commercial development and hands-on approach to every project the company undertakes, have helped him turn Metro Development Group into one of Florida's premier land developers.
Prior to landing in Florida in 1991, John conducted an exhaustive search to determine the best climate for growth, before choosing the Sunshine state. For nine years, he simultaneously managed development companies in Canada and the U.S., until finally directing his focus solely on U.S. markets. John holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Queens University, Kingston, Ontario.
Greg Singleton President
In his role as President of Metro Development Group, Greg Singleton is responsible for maintaining the company's day-to-day operations, including a focus
on investor relations and corporate financial ventures.
His background is in real estate finance, and he was recruited to Metro after a lengthy career as a Senior Vice President at Wachovia, a Wells Fargo company. Greg holds a BBA from Texas State University, and did his graduate studies at Louisiana State University's Graduate Banking School.
Rob Ahrens

Rob's resume reads like a Who's Who list of the industry's biggest names. At KB Homes, he was a Senior Vice President in charge of acquisition and development. As a Division President for Lennar Homes, Rob managed assets in excess of $200 million. And as a Vice President at Arvida, he directed a 10,000-acre development, the single largest asset in the company's history. At Metro Development Group, Rob's responsibility includes identifying and negotiating new opportunities.
Mike Lawson
Managing Director,
Land Development
As Metro's Managing Director of Land Development, Mike Lawson oversees all aspects of land development and entitlement for the Company.
He was a pioneer in the formation and financing of Community Development Districts, and he comes to Metro with two decades of priceless experience rising through the ranks of two of the nation's preeminent builders, U.S. Home and Lennar Homes, ultimately becoming a Division President. Mike holds an accounting degree from Florida Southern.
